PROFILE

Kunihiro Tanaka founded SAKURA internet, Inc. in 1996 while studying at Maizuru National College of Technology. The company was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers in 2005 and is now on the Prime Market. Drawing on his entrepreneurial experience, he mentors startups and invests as an angel investor. He also supports young entrepreneurs and student engineers through his role in the IPA’s “Exploratory IT Human Resources Project (MITOU Program).”
In addition, he is chairman of the Software Association of Japan (SAJ), president of the Japan Data Center Council (JDCC), and vice president of the Japan Internet Providers Association (JAIPA). Recently, he serves as a managing director of Kansai Association of Corporate Executives (KANSAI KEIZAI DOUYUKAI), and a member of the AI Strategy Council (AI SENRYAKU KAIGI) .
