Minori Takao

PROFILE
Minori Takao spent her childhood in England and Egypt and graduated from International Christian University, Department of International Relations. She is the executive producer and anchor of NHK World-Japan and continues to produce news, documentaries and debate programs for international and domestic audiences in the UK and Japan. She worked as a freelance reporter, emcee, narrator, and interpreter until 1995 and then became an English-language news anchor for NHK. Since 2002, she has been both an anchor and director. In 2021~2024, she was assigned to New York where she set up a broadcasting base for NHK WORLD-JAPAN. Immediately after the Great East Japan Earthquake, Ms. Takao reported on the situation of the affected areas and disaster prevention, and also reported from inside the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. She has also covered floods, floods, and various humanitarian issues throughout Asia and reported on the 2016 U.S. presidential election live from Washington, D.C., Virginia, and New York. She has also moderated numerous events such as the International Women's Conference WAW!, the World Economic Forum, UN Women, and the Asia Pacific Initiative Forum.
