PROFILE
After graduating from Sophia University, Kaori Sasaki founded Unicul International, specializing in interpretation and translation. She also worked as a news reporter for TV Asahi’s News Station, anchor for TBS’s CBS Document (CBS 60 Minutes), and commentator for Fuji TV’s Tokudane!.
In 2000, she established ewoman Inc., focusing on diversity as a way to boost team performance through the power of different perspectives. She is recognized as a pioneer in diversity management, having developed the Diversity Index to visualize its impact on business results, and Diversity Knowledge to help companies learn and implement best practices.
She also founded THE BOARD, a network to support and connect women outside directors. Through partnerships with the U.S., she provides training for women board members and introduces qualified candidates to companies. She currently serves as an outside director for listed companies and as a member of various government councils. She has given over 1,800 lectures in Japan and internationally.
Her work has earned her awards including the New Business Conference’s Entrepreneur Special Award, the U.S. Stevie Award for Best Innovative Company of the Year, the Best Mother Award (Economics Division), and the Bulgari Aurora Award.
For over 30 years, Sasaki has produced every aspect of the International Conference for Women in Business—planning, theme setting, casting, direction, and staging—to create an inspiring 10-hour program with a 99% satisfaction rate year after year. During the pandemic, she produced a 10-hour non-stop online conference with simultaneous interpretation that attracted 1,000 participants from 22 countries.
