Izumi HAYASHI

PROFILE

Izumi Hayashi graduated from Waseda University's Faculty of Law. After working as a prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor's Office, she registered with the Tokyo Bar Association (1987 and later became a founding partner of Sakurazaka Law Office. As an expert in intellectual property law, she has served as director of the Intellectual Property Center of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations. She currently is a visiting professor at Chuo University Law School, a member of the Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters of the Cabinet Office, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lawyers' Intellectual Property Net, a member of the Civil Mediation Committee of the Tokyo District Court (IP Mediation), a director of Hitotsubashi University, a director of the Wheelchair Tennis Association, and a director of the Japan Foundation Para Sports Support Center. She was appointed as a member of the Regulatory Reform Promotion Council in 2012, and from 2023 has served as the Deputy Chair of the Council and the Chair of the Regional Revitalization WG, where she works on agriculture, forestry and fisheries reform, childcare, medical care, nursing care reform, ride-sharing, etc. She enjoys cooking and exploring history with her two daughters and two grandchildren.
