Reiko Akiike

Boston Consulting Group Senior Partner& Managing Director

PROFILE

Reiko Akiike began her career at Kirin Brewery Company, followed by positions at McKinsey & Company and the Industrial Revitalization Corporation of Japan (IRCJ), where she served as a Managing Director. At IRCJ, she held board roles at companies such as Kyushu Sanko Group and Kanto Auto Works, playing a hands-on role in corporate turnarounds.

She joined Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2006 and has served as Co-Chair of BCG Japan since 2021. As a consultant, she has led numerous projects in corporate strategy, execution support, organizational transformation, and business revitalization, contributing to the growth and renewal of client companies.

In addition to her consulting work, she has actively contributed to public policy and economic reform. She has served as a Vice Chair of the Board of Councillors at Keidanren (the Japan Business Federation) and as a member of several government-affiliated committees.

She holds an M.E. in Applied Biochemistry from Waseda University and an M.S. in Management Studies from MIT Sloan.
