In 1985, Tomoko Nagano joined the broadcast department of Fuji Television Co., Ltd. In the fall of 1995, she moved to the United States where she majored in media environment studies at New York University and researched the influence of media on human beings and history. She completed her master's in May 1999. From April 2000, she became a newscaster on "The Scoop" (TV Asahi), and later for “Sunday Station” and “Hodo Station,” among other shows. Currently, Ms. Nagano is the news director of the United Nations Association for UNHCR and travels extensively in both in Japan and abroad.
