Niyanta Deshpande

Mr. Deshpande is from Mumbai, India. He entered a Japanese language school after being intrigued by Japan and its culture through Japanese movies such as Akira Kurosawa films when he was a high school student. He has earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and an MBA.
He won his first trip to Japan in 1993; the trip was the prize for winning a Japanese-language speech contest in Mumbai sponsored by Yokohama city. He returned to Japan in 1998 and built experience in technology, marketing, and management at an IT company. During this time, he strongly felt the need for education for the children of Indians living in Japan and established an Indian international school in Japan with an Indian-style curriculum in July 2006. He served as its representative through July 2008.
Mr. Deshpande is also active in spreading the fun and amazing aspects of Indian-style calculation methods across Japan through lectures in Japanese elementary schools, TV appearances, and books.
His titles such as "Indo-shiki Kantan Keisanho (India-style simple calculation method)" and "Indo-shiki Sugoi Benkyoho (amazing India-style of studying)" have sold a total of over one million copies. In addition to giving lectures across Japan, he also offers consulting services to support the globalization of Japanese companies.
