At the age of two, Chihiro Watanabe sat down to a keyboard and suddenly started playing “FOR YOU”, a song by SALYU that she had listened to as a lullaby. rd.

She began studying classical piano at the age of four. In 2013, she won 1st prize in piano in the “3rd grade and under” category at the All Japan Music Competition of Blind Students run by the Tokyo Helen Keller Association.

At the 13th Gold Concert in 2016, held by the Japan Barrier Free Association, she won the “Audience award” and was highly praised by Reiko Yukawa, chair of the judging team and a famous Japanese music journalist, lyricist, translator, and radio DJ.

After she started uploading her performances to YouTube, she was invited to play on a radio show “42nd RADIO CHARITY MUSICTHON” on Nippon Hoso Station as a youngest artist. Yuki Saito, who hosted the show, introduced her in the TV program “Music Portrait” on NHK E-tele. In March 2018, she sang and played the piano to thunderous applause at Amateur Night at the famed Apollo Theater in New York City. NHK’s TV program “Imagine, No Border” broadcast her performance.
