PROFILE
The first female winemaker to graduate in Argentina, Susana Balbo, currently the holder of a Master's Degree in Winemaking, was awarded a gold medal for the highest GPA by Universidad Juan Agustín Maza (Mendoza). A mother of two, José and Ana, she runs her own company, Susana Balbo Wines, since 1999, a business globally renowned for the quality and personality of its wines.

In 1997, she was elected Women Entrepreneur of the Year by the Argentine Organization of Businesswomen (Asociación Argentina de Mujeres de Empresa, OAME). Between 2006 and 2016, she held office as President of Wines of Argentina (WofA). In 2015, she was honored with the Best Wine Producer award by Banco Galicia (financial entity)'s awards for agricultural excellence, in addition to receiving the Woman of the Year distinction from The Drinks Business magazine.

In December 2015, she was appointed National Deputy for the province of Mendoza at the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of Argentina’s National Congress. She has now resigned this position in order to work full time as Chair of W20 Argentina. As of April 2017, Susana represents Argentina in all Troika meetings and, as of December that year, she is the *Chair* of W20 Argentina.
