PROFILE
Simona Leskovar is the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Japan since October 2015.

Previously, she was Chief of staff of the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Government appointed National Focal Point for Responsibility to Protect (R2P). In 2015 she served as a Director of Young Bled Strategic Forum. Ambassador Leskovar has been Deputy Permanent Representative of Slovenia to the United Nations between November 2008 and November 2012. During the Slovenian EU Presidency she served as deputy chief of staff responsible for EU Affairs at the Office of Foreign Minister. Ambassador Leskovar served also at the Slovenian Embassy in Washington, DC.

Simona Leskovar is a career diplomat with more than 20 years of experiences in Slovenian Foreign Service. She studied International Relations at the University of Ljubljana as well as at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael.

Ambassador Leskovar is also nonresident Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Korea.
