Ken Mogi

PROFILE
Ken Mogi is a neuroscientist, writer, and broadcast, and was born in Tokyo, in 1962. He got his Ph.D in Physics at University of Tokyo in 1992. His mission is to solve the so-called mind-brain problem, specifically, to understand how consciousness full of qualia arises from the billions of firing neurons in the brain. Ken's research is based in Sony Computer Science Laboratory, Tokyo. Ken also teaches at Japan Women's, Osaka, and Tokyo University. He has been visiting professor at numerous academic institutions. Ken is widely known in Japan for his public understanding of science activities, as well as for his critical essays on things from the arts to ways of life. Ken has received two prestigious literary prizes for his books.
