PROFILE
Upon graduation from Tokyo Women’s Medical University in 1978, Dr. Adachi joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tokyo Women’s Medical University. In 1985, she earned an M.D. and worked in OB/GYN research at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Returning to Japan, she joined Tokyo Women’s Medical University as an instructor, an assistant professor and then became an associate professor. From 2004, she was the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Aiiku Maternal and Child Health Center, from 2013 she was the vice Director, and since 2017 she has been the Director of Aiiku Hospital.

Dr. Adachi is a delegate to the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, managing director of the Japan Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a director, councilor, and delegate of various OB/GYN-related societies. She also serves on committees and councils of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
