Junko Nakagawa

President and Chief Executive Officer of Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd. (NAM)
PROFILE
Ms. Nakagawa is the first woman to lead NAM and, with this appointment, she will be the most senior female executive at Nomura.
She was previously the Chief Risk Officer and Executive Vice President of NAM, where she oversaw Corporate Planning & Administration, Business & Infrastructure and Risk Management for the firm.
Ms. Nakagawa joined Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. in 1988 and worked in various business divisions at Nomura throughout her career, including HR, Capital Markets, Finance and Internal Audit. She also served as President and CEO of Nomura Healthcare Co., Ltd., becoming the first female President of a Nomura subsidiary in 2008. In 2011, she became Nomura’s first female Group CFO, and also served as Group Head of Internal Audit before moving to NAM in 2017.
Ms. Nakagawa is Chair of the Subcommittee on Gender Diversity, KEIDANREN (Japan Business Federation), one of the largest comprehensive economic organizations in Japan, and a committee member of W20 Japan 2019.
Ms. Nakagawa graduated from Kobe University in Japan with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature.
