Yumiko Kamada joined East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in 1989. In 2001, she started working in the “ekinaka (inside the train station)” business and in 2005 was appointed President and CEO of JR East Station Retailing, the company that operates “ecute”. From 2008, Ms. Kamada became responsible for regional revitalization and child-rearing support within the Life-Style Business Development Headquarters at JR East. She went on to launch regional rediscovery projects, including Aomori’s “A-FACTORY” and “Nomono” local produce shops, to expand sales channels for local produce and develop processing options for agricultural producers. She left JR East in 2015 and joined CALBEE, Inc. as Senior Executive Officer, serving until March 2019. Ms. Kamada established ONE・GLOCAL in 2019 to develop a scalable business structure that utilizes domestic producers. She currently serves on various university, government, and administrative committees, as a member of NHK International Broadcast Programs Council, and as an outside director for several corporations. She is an Ibaraki Prefecture Ambassador, a Chikusei City Ambassador, and a Aomori Prefecture Ambassador.
