PROFILE

Julia Maeda

President, Foreign Executive Women

Julia was born in the States, raised and educated in the UK, and has been travelling for much of her life. Tokyo has been her home for over 7 years now, and she has been in Japan for over 10.

She joined FEW in 2004 as a way to ease herself back into the "professional world" following a couple of years out to be a mother. After filling the role of Membership Director for 2 years, Julia took over as President in September 2007.

As President, Julia's primary aim is to fulfil the mission statement of FEW; To help foreign women in Japan achieve their full professional and/or personal potential. Julia juggles being an independent management consultant and interim manager, with being a mother to two, very lively young boys, and an active member of the local and ex-pat community. She also finds it difficult to say no to a good cause, which has resulted in her involvement in many interesting projects, and even seen her topless as the cover girl for a breast cancer calendar!
