Average Age

The average age of the participants is 38.56.

Working women of all ages participants in the conference, ranging from teenage students to 70s. The age group predominant is 25-44.

 

Gender

Women comprised 94% of the participants while men 6% (among valid responses). Some participate attended with their wives or daughters.

 

Work

Approximately 94.6% of the participants hold jobs. Among them, 71.4% work for corporations, 11.0% are freelancers and business owners, 9.9% are CEOs, 1.3% temporary staff and 1.0% part timers. Students comprise 1.3% of the total participants.

 

Average Annual Income

The average annual income is 6.44 million yen.

Average for CEOs: 7.41 million yen
Those work for corporations: 6.65 million yen
Freelancers and business owners: 6.62 million yen
Temporary staff: 3.35 million yen
Part timers: 4.25 million yen

 

Corporations

20.0% of all participants work for foreign-owned corporations. More than half of the corporate employees work for Japanese companies.

 

Sizes of companies

61.7% work for companies with more than 100 employees while 38.1% work for companies with more than 1000 employees.

 

Position in Management

51.4% percent of all participants have job titles, including positions in management. 44.5% percent report that they have subordinates reporting to them. These numbers indicate that a significant portion of participants holds management positions.

 

Career Objectives

48.0% are eager to move up the corporate ladder and take on more responsibility. At the same time, 21.1% say they are planning to change workplaces or start their own businesses. 22.9% say they want change jobs.

 

Ratio of Married to Single Women / Children

44.3% married, 47.8% single (of them, 6.9% divorced)

29.4% of the participants has a child/children.

 

Educational Background

63.0% have a four-year university degree, and 11.7% of all the participants have advanced degrees or higher.

 

Residency

Although 77.69% of them live in the greater Tokyo metropolitan area, the participants came from all over Japan.

 

Language

Over 61.2% of the participants use English at work and/or say they are conversant in English.

 

PC Use

99.0% percent of all participants use a computer either at home or at work.
