Claudette Byers
First Vice President, Head of Japan HR and Pac Rim Head of Countries and M&A, Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Co., Ltd
After graduating from the University of San Francisco with a BS degree in Accounting, Ms. Byers returned to Japan to start her career at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as a Tax Consultant. After 6 years she moved to Merrill Lynch and started her career as a Human Resources professional. She has been building her career in HR in the Investment Banking world ever since. After experiencing many roles in HR, she became Head of HR for Deutsche Securities Limited, Tokyo Branch in 2000 and has subsequently moved back to Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Co., Ltd in 2005. Her current role is Head of Japan HR and Pac Rim Head of Countries and M&A. Her responsibilities expand over Australia, India, Korea and Taiwan.
