Upon graduating from Yokohama National University in 1982, Ms. Ebata worked for Fujitsu Limited developing financial systems. In 1992, she received an MBA from the Sloan School of Management, MIT and became a consultant for McKinsey & Company. In 1998, Ms. Ebata joined Amgen Limited, a US-based biotechnology pharmaceutical company. She was in charge of both Finance and Marketing and was named Executive Director.
She resigned due to family obligations but started her current job in June of 2005. Ms. Ebata is the mother of a 11-year-old.
