Ms. Akiyama has a B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA, and a M.E. in Computer Science from Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. While at UIUC, she participated in the world's first web browser project for NCSA Mosaic.
After working at Intel, launching the E-business division at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and working as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group, she moved to Italy.
Since her return to Japan, she has been working as a business strategy consultant, focusing on corporate reconstruction and new business development. She has also undertaken numerous promotions in the sports, music and film industries.
She has published "Introduction to a Millionaire's Work Method" (Discover) and translated into Japanese "The Magic Garden Explained: The Internals of Unix System Version V Release 4: An Open Systems Design" (Pearson Education).
