The International Conference for Women in Business is a diversity conference open to anyone who is positive and highly motivated. All are welcome, regardless of occupation, age, gender, education, or nationality. Newcomers and those attending on their own are, of course, welcome as well.

The full-day program tells a story. Those who participate attentively from beginning to end will learn new things, meet new people, and get inspired.

The Conference will be held entirely online. As the day of the Conference grows nearer, the number of speakers will increase and we will announce the program. In September, those who have registered and paid the registration fee will receive a gift box containing the program and other items. (Please be aware that due to uncertainties in international shipping caused by the coronavirus pandemic, we cannot send gift boxes outside Japan.) And of course we have planned a networking session for the day of the Conference where you can meet other participants!

As always, we are offering the Matching Sponsor program. An online meeting for Matching Sponsors and those they sponsor will be held one week before the Conference and again one week after. Also, a post-Conference event for participating Partner Companies that support the Conference will be held two months after.

Since the Conference is being held online, anyone can participate from anywhere in the world! Access the Conference by yourself at home or wherever you may be to experience the enriching program and meet other enthusiastic participants. We look forward to your participation in The 26th International Conference for Women in Business . Hope to see you there!

Register as a Matching Sponsor and Support a Student

The Matching Sponsor program is a program originally proposed by Kaori Sasaki to provide experiences and opportunities for learning and meeting new people to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. Today the program consists of a Matching Sponsor, who covers the registration fee and mentors one or two students so they can participate. This year’s Conference is online, so one week before the Conference, Matching Sponsors and Sponsored students will be given the opportunity to meet each other online. One week after, an online session will be held in which all Matching Sponsors and Sponsored students will have the chance to meet again. Sponsoring someone is an enriching experience for both the Sponsor and student, in which you provide inspiration to each other in a mentor-protégé-like relationship. Even though it is online, it is sure to be an amazing experience for both. If you would like to support a high school or university student who is eager to learn, register as a Matching Sponsor.

Individual Registration (22 years old and under)

If you are 22 years old or under, use this form to register. Every year, many junior high school, high school, and university students pay the fee on their own to participate by saving up their allowance, raising money through crowdfunding, and other means. Since the Conference is online this year, individuals who are 22 and under pay the same registration fee regardless of when they register.

Apply to Be Sponsored by a Matching Sponsor

If you are a high school or university student and wish to receive financial support from another participant, use this registration form. A working professional who has registered as a Matching Sponsor will cover your registration fee. If you would like to be sponsored, submit an essay on why you would like to participate in the Conference. Based on your essay, you will be matched with someone who is suitable for you, such as someone who shares your desired career and outlook on life, or lives nearby and can provide longer-term support. One week before the Conference, you will be given the opportunity to meet your Sponsor online to thank them and convey your enthusiasm to them. After the Conference, another meeting will be held with other Matching Sponsors and students, and you will be required to submit a report. The Matching Sponsor program provides a rich learning experience and is a great opportunity to meet new people. Over 200 people have participated since 2011. Program participants get together to share what they have been doing since the Conference for years afterward. Please understand that the program attracts many applicants so not every applicant will be able to receive a Sponsorship.

  • 1) The Conference Secretariat will select students after reviewing the essay, academic history, and location of each student.
  • 2) Successful applicants will be notified via e-mail by Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
  • 3) Successful applicants must confirm acceptance of the sponsorship via return email by 10:00 am, Thursday, September 9, 2021.Please note that missing this deadline is considered nonacceptance, and the sponsorship will be awarded to another applicant.
As such, please pay close attention to any emails received from the Conference Secretariat after submitting your application.

*No changes at all can be accepted once your participation has been confirmed.

About the Matching Sponsor Program

Registration Form

Group Registration (2 or more people)

If you want to pay a single payment for the entire group, (a group of two or more people such as family, friends, or colleagues,) use this registration method. Many companies and other organizations want a manager to register their participating staff. A representative can register for a group without being a participant himself or herself. Those who register as a representative of a group will receive a coupon code and payment details, which will depend on the number of participants, to distribute to the participants.
The group representative must first register the contact details, number of participants, and other necessary information. Once payment has been confirmed, registration forms for the appropriate number of participants will be emailed to the representative.
Each participant should then register their own details on the form. As participants must make certain selections themselves, it is imperative that each participant fill out the forms themselves. Group registration payments can be made by direct deposit, credit card, or invoice.

Become a Partner Company

Organizations who endorse the aims of the Conference and wish to provide support can do so by becoming a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Partner. Partners receive many benefits, including having their company logo displayed on the Conference website. Please consider registering as a Partner Company.

Matching Sponsor Program

The Matching Sponsor program is a program originally proposed by Kaori Sasaki to provide experiences, and opportunities for learning and meeting new people, to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. It began as a charitable program in which individuals who wished to help would become a Matching Sponsor and cover the registration fee of someone affected by earthquake, and the two would be seated next to each other so they could meet, talk, and connect. Some who were sponsored even return the following year to sponsor someone else.
When there were no longer any applicants from the affected area, the program was expanded to all high school and university students across Japan. Many students raise the money to participate themselves by saving their allowance or through crowdfunding. But under this program, an adult participant becomes a Matching Sponsor and covers the fee of one or two students so they can participate. Students who wish to receive a sponsorship must write an essay explaining why they apply to participate in the Conference. Based on the essay and sponsors’ circumstances, the student is matched with someone suitable, such as someone they want to meet or who lives in the same area.

Because this year’s Conference is online, one week before the conference Matching Sponsors and sponsored students will be given the opportunity to meet each other online. And one week after, an online session will be held where all Matching Sponsors and sponsored students will have the chance to meet. Sponsored students are required to write a report after the conference and participate in these sessions.

If you become a Matching Sponsor, as a special benefit you will be invited to a post-Conference event, which will be attended only by the speakers and Partner Companies. Sponsoring someone is an enriching experience for both the Sponsor and student. You provide inspiration to each other in a mentor-protégé-like relationship. Even though it is online, it is sure to be an amazing experience for both. If you would like to support a high school or university student who is eager to learn, register as a Matching Sponsor. One sponsor can also support two or more students.
