Matching Sponsor

In the Matching Sponsor Program, working members of society support high school and college students with funding for participation and "dialogue" so that they can imagine their future working in society through the International Conference for Women in Business.

How to register

This year, we have a new registration format.

Step 1:

Students are required to write an essay on why they want to attend and what they want to learn from the International Conference for Women in Business, in order to apply for support. Their essays will be posted on the website. Students must attend meetings before and after the Conference and submit a report after the Conference. Please check the meeting schedule and report submission deadlines before submitting your application. You can join the 200+ highly motivated previous Sponsees as a member of the Alumni Club. Your application will be approved when we receive an offer from a Sponsor, so please write down your aspirations thoughtfully. If your application is not selected by a Sponsor, you will not be able to participate with support of Matching Sponsor, but you may still attend the conference as a self-funded participant.

Step 2:

After completing your own registration, potential Sponsors may read the student essays posted on the site, select the students you wish to support, and register to sponsor them. One person may only support up to two students. Please carefully read if a student is seeking support for participating in only Part 1 of the Conference, or for participating in both Part 1 and Part 2, etc. Please support the student's career by communicating with them before and after the meeting as well as on the day of the meeting. Please be sure to confirm meeting dates as well.

Step 3:

The Conference secretariat will contact those matched above.

Meeting schedule for students and Sponsors

This is an important 30-minute meeting to share your aspirations and learnings with each other. Participation via Zoom on the following dates is required for registration.

What is a Matching Sponsor

Matching Sponsor Program was conceived by the organizer, Kaori Sasaki, immediately after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster, with the desire to "give the gift of encounter, learning, and experience" as well as funds and supplies to those affected by the disaster. In this highly successful program, individuals with a desire to provide support became Sponsors and invited disaster victims to the Conference to sit next to them, meet, talk, and connect with them free of charge as Matching Sponsors. There have been many heartwarming stories in which the supported disaster victims later became Sponsors and returned to the Conference to support others.
The Matching Sponsor Program has evolved and is now a program that supports the participation and future careers of high school and university students from Japan and abroad. Students may, of course, participate at their own expense, and there are various students who save their own pocket money to participate in the Conference, as well as students who raise funds through crowdfunding.
However, participation in the Matching Sponsor Program is not just about covering expenses. There are also meetings before and after the Conference, and it is an opportunity for working adults to support students with aspirations for the future. Also, students may meet with working adults who would like to share their passion.
