PROFILE

Meyumi Yamada graduated from the Department of Biotechnology, of the Tokyo University of Science. She planned “@cosme,” a comprehensive makeup and cosmetics portal site while she was still employed at a cosmetics manufacturer based on the response she received on her email newsletter that she started out of personal interest. She participated in the preparation and launch of the site and in 1999 co-founded istyle Inc. which she is director of. In 2016 she established and became director of ISPartners, Inc. whose objective is to provide employment support to unemployed women and help them improve their skills.
Ms. Yamada has served as a member of METI’s Industrial Structure Council Consumer Policy Committee Fundamental Issues Subcommittee and other Japanese government advisory committees. She was awarded the “Grand Prix” in the personal sector of the “Forbes JAPAN WOMEN AWARD 2017” hosted by Forbes JAPAN.
