PROFILE

After working at McKinsey's U.S. office and seven international companies in Tokyo, including Amazon and Disney in Japan, Emi has pivoted to education to help reimagine the future of education in our upcoming creative society. Since 2016, as the official ambassador of the film, "Most Likely to Succeed" Emi has been working so spread the film screening and dialogue on the "future of education" throughout Japan. Now the film has reached 45 prefectures. In 2019, Emi launched "Learn by Creation", a two-day conference where 2,500 people gathered to learn about the future by creating. Learn by Creation now hosts events, teacher training programs, and an ecosystem building project. In July 2020, Emi has released a book titled, "The New Elite - What competencies do we want to nurture to survive the chaotic era?" (Nihon Keizai Shimbun Publishing), which became the best seller among July new releases in the Amazon.co.jp Education book category. She is currently working to promote learner-centered learning and whole-child nurturing environments to nurture future creative leaders. She also serves as a member of the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and other public positions. She has two children who have experienced both the Japanese and International education system. Emi has a bachelor's degree in economics from Keio University, a master's degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a master's degree in international business from the University of Pennsylvania.
