PROFILE
Born and raised in Tokyo, Yuko completed a MPhil degree in International Relations at Oxford University. Yuko previously worked as a journalist at the Asahi Shimbun, as a Political Officer (General Assembly secretariat) at United Nations Headquarters, as well as on the editorial teams of CNN.co.jp and the NTT news portal site, goo News.

Yuko currently heads the Editorial team of BBC News in Japan and is responsible for BBC’s news, analysis and features published uniquely for the Japanese audience. BBC News Japan is operated by BBC Global News, the commercial arm of BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).

In the past, Yuko has translated publishing titles such as ‘Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency’ by Barton Gellman, ‘Sherlock: The Casebook’ by Guy Adams and ‘China Goes Global’ by David Shambaugh.
