Naoyuki Sato

Mr. Sato was born in Tokyo in 1961. He joined Dentsu in 1985. He is known as a communication designer after many years as a copywriter and commercial planner, and later as a web director. He left Dentsu in April 2011 and now works as a freelance communication director/creative director for solutions for social and media and other next-generation media. He has won many awards, including the Japan Internet Advertising Association Grand Prix for his "Slam Dunk 100 million copies sold: Thank You Campaign".

Mr. Sato's personal website, www.satonao.com, has had 40 million visitors since its 1995 launch. He can be found on Facebook (satonao.com) and Twitter (@satonao310), which has now 60,000 followers. He and his online friends organized "Tasukeai Japan"(www.tasukeaijapan.jp), in collaboration with the Cabinet Secretariat's Volunteers Cooperation Office, to support Reconstruction efforts after the Tohoku-Kanto Great Earthquake.

He has published "Ashita no Kokoku (Ads of Tomorrow)" (ASCII Shinsho) under his real name, and "Okinawa Jozuna Tabi Gohan (Okinawa Artful Travel Food)" (Bungei Shunjyu), "Okinawa Yagi Jigoku (Okinawa Goat Hell)", "Jinsei Piro Piro" (Kadokawa Bunko), "Umahyahya Sanukiudon", "Jibaran" (Kobunshya), and other titles under the name "Satonao."
