Mizue Tsukushi

President & CEO
Good Bankers Co., Ltd.

After studying at Paris University and experiencing a period at home as a housewife, Ms. Tsukushi worked for a French company before shifting over to the financial sector in 1988. She then worked for the Swiss UBS Trust and Banking as a Deputy General Manager where she was in charge of institutional clients. In 1998 she went on to establish Good Bankers.

In 1999 the company pioneered the "Eco-fund", the first SRI (socially responsible investment) financial product in Japan, in which investments are only made in corporations evaluated as socially responsible from the perspective of the environment. In six months the market grew to 200 billion yen, with this being the first financial product to receive the Good Design Award in Japan. In March 2000 the company became the first Japanese company to become a signatory of the UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) Finance Initiative. "Family Friendly Fund", launched in 2004, was also awarded the Good Design Award. In September 2005, Ms. Tsukushi was awarded the Chief Cabinet Secretary's Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Gender Equality. Ms. Tsukushi is also a member of the Japanese National Commission for UNESCO and the special advisory committees for several Japanese ministries such as Ministry of the Environment.
