Ms. Ide graduated from the Department of Food Science in the Faculty of Domestic Science at Nara Women's University. She then joined Household Research Laboratories, Lion Corporation, where she was involved in skincare product evaluation and research on skin aging such as dark spots and wrinkles. In 1994, she traveled to the Philippines as a member of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) program run by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In the Philippines she provided instruction on nutrition and how to cook molokheya, worked on a project to support female employment in food processing and worked with an NGO to improve infant nutrition and help increase infant weights. Ms. Ide returned to Japan in 1996 and joined KELLOGG (JAPAN) K.K. in 1997. From 2001 to 2006 she studied nutrition at the graduate school of Kagawa Nutrition University, first earning a master's degree then a doctorate. Ms. Ide's research covers the positive effect of cereals on the skin conditions and the intestinal environment. She also lectures on nutrition.
