John Kim

Associate Professor of Media and Governance, Graduate School of Keio University

Mr. Kim was born in Korea. He studied at Chuo University in Japan as a government-sponsored exchange student. He was a senior researcher at Oxford University in England, a lecturer at Indiana University, a senior researcher at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces, a guest researcher at the Institute of Intellectual Property in Japan, and a member of the European Committee for Standardization & Education. He has been an associate professor at Keio University since 2004 and conducted research at Harvard University's Berkman Center for Internet & Society until March of this year.
Mr. Kim also serves as a commentator for "BS Prime News" on Fuji Television, served on the government commission at Cabinet Secretariat, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He is also an advisory committee member for Naver, Korea, the board member of the Japan Society of Information and Communication Research, and the chief officer of the Japan Society of Contents. Mr. Kim recently wrote "Harvard Lecture by John Kim: Arrival of the Inverse Panopticon Society" (Discover21).
